Eurokars Group executive chairman Karsono Kwee presenting a $91,000 cheque for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund to Ms Tan Bee Heong, the fund’s general manager, at the Porsche charity gala dinner to mark the 70th anniversary of the German car company. Mr Kwee, founder of Eurokars’ Stuttgart Auto, sole dealer for Porsche cars in Singapore, initiated a donation of $70,000 from his company. Further donations made by Porsche Asia-Pacific and Stuttgart Auto for tickets sold for the dinner, which was held at the Shangri-La Hotel on Friday, came to $21,000. In total, $111,900 was donated to the fund after a charity auction held at the event, which was attended by more than 300 people, raised a further $20,900.
