Of the 12,538 students who took last year’s GCE A-level examination, 92.6 per cent achieved at least three H2 passes, with a pass in General Paper (GP) or Knowledge and Inquiry (KI).
This is a slight dip compared to last year’s cohort, 93.1 per cent of which achieved at least three H2 passes and a pass in GP or KI.
But it is the second-best performance by an A-level cohort since the curriculum was revised about a decade ago, with last year’s performance setting the benchmark for the highest pass rate.
Previously, the second-best performance was set by the 2014 cohort, with a 91.4 per cent pass rate.
As a whole, the last three cohorts have attained the three highest pass rates since the curriculum was revised.
